Franck Ribiere - Bloody Karma (2006)

Franck Ribiere - Bloody Karma (2006)Karmattitude Records

Franck is the next guitarist from France who can be recognized as a musician from Blowback and Double Heart Project (and as a Cyril Achard's ex-student for the initiated). Mr. Ribiere brought Vincent Fabre of DHP to his solo release and completed the line-up with a bassist Arnaud Decompoix and a keyboardist Mistheria. With such a crew Ribiere managed to record the album being comprised of instrumental rock/metal that is based on melodious lines and progressive foundation. Some of his guitar parts are improvisational and head for the fusion/funky world (and even bluesy fragments). As you can know, Mistheria is a specialist on neoclassical wizardry, but this time showed off his progressive facet. But the main figure of "Bloody Karma" is still Franck Ribiere that I will remember because of his distorted tunes and chord-progressions. Since the album is characterized by wide spectrum of various genres, I can recommend it to Lars Eric Mattsson's, Frank Gambale's and Shawn Lane's music lovers.
