Capharnaüm - Intrumental (demo) (1999)

Capharnaüm - Intrumental (demo) (1999)Self-released

This band was founded in Montreal in the Land of Maple Leaf in 1991. Its founders are the Blanchard brothers and guitarists in one - Marc-André and François. Franc confesses to Vangelis, Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky (this Russian composer moved to the USA) and Pink Floyd as his influences. However Marc mentiones Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich and Joe Satriani as his greatest musical inspirers.

Aforesaid demo is a bit aged, but even though it was recorded live at Canadians' country house, it's worth reviewing. Shortly put, their demo includes atmospherical, melodious, quiet, subdued, partly improvised music at mid tempos throughout a stuff's duration. Distinguishing feature is a jazz-oriented rhythm section harmonizing with instrumental raisins. I think that their style can't be defined unambiguously, though the most universal qualification seems to be an instrumental guitar-oriented fusion with a bit progression and saturation of rock cuts.

In my opinion, "Intrumental" is served in possibly most accessible form and should be easily absorbed by most instrumental music fans. Actually, it is a nice and sympathetic voiceless material that surely appeal to those who enjoyed their compatriots' instrumental works from Karcius. It is verifiable, so you can check whether I am a liar or truthful enthusiast of virtuosic music from The Republic of Poland, haha.
