Mr. Jim Horne Feretti, hailing from Pennsylvania (USA), played in hard rock and metal bands, but shredders era of the eighties encouraged him to widen musical horizons. It's necessary to stress that Jim is one of most-gifted young generation 7- and 8-string guitar player all over the globe.
Aforesaid 6-track EP shows a potential and inventiveness residing in an American virtuoso and multiinstrumentalist handling a guitar, bass guitar and drum programming. Here are typically shred cuts ("Destination", "213/222 (Interlude)") as well as more gentle lick ("Ballad Type Thing") and highway track ("Low-B-Genni"). Although Jim perfectly commands the guitar, he bashfully comes up with his own instrumental initiative. The stuff is characterized by heavy and massive sound backed by swirling solos and shredding chops.
As far as the style goes, I think that it's an experimental shredding metal sunken in progression. The listener should be prepared for an in-depth guitar exploration and the artist who is true blue and doesn't follow a fast-fading trends. Upon listening to "Zero Tolerance", we can have a feeling that his guitar manner is uncomparable and unique, but we as well should have an awareness that it is only a timid herald of the tones which would appear on Jim's full length solo debut.
