Mr. Pattison, hailing from California (USA), started his adventure with a guitar 25 years ago and has over 10 albums recorded so far. Marc is a very versatile musician who jumps from pop to metal, from electronic to film music, from new age to Middle eastern tones, so you can hear his musical output on TV (MTV for instance), video games, websites, DVDs and bumpers on radio stations as well. He is also a sought after producer, engineer and composer, but most important fact is that Marc most loves guitar-based music. I do like it and feel relaxed before giving a spin on his music, haha.
Marc is a multiinstrumentalist, so he is a trouble-free manager of key and drum programming, guitars and bass guitar in addition. His devoted buddy is a drummer Bud Salvetti who makes Marc's music more dynamic and authentic. "Digital Destination" is started with Donna Summers' hit "Hot Stuff" that is kept in Mike Oldfield's style backed by a vivid guitar pyrotechnics. This album's title ideally reflects its contests, since here are many loops, samples and movie accents which are enough hits to play them on radio. An American can play fluid and shredding tones akin to natural turbulences. The guitar sweeping up is a piece of cake for Mr. Pattison. It is a bit experimental release, but we aren't forced to delve in all the details within the CD to pervede the music and understand it completely. On the other hand, a romantic ballad "Autumn Winds" played on acoustic guitar and spiritually performed classical hit "Ave Maria" are the evidence he is a sane man, haha. But the fact is that his music is predominantly backed up by electronica, thus I'd rather write it is electronically guitar album, haha.
Stylewise the stuff is totally "unstyleable", and only "unique" can be the word most fitting to Marc's inventions. Can you imagine yourself shocked or electrified Joe Satriani? Roughly, it can be an indicator in order to characterize his music. I have no doubt that Marc is one of the best world's specialists in bringing together electronic music with guitar virtuosity. Really best at his trade. Obviously, he has something to do with a few other freaks like John5, Terry Syrek, Bumblefoot, Phi-Yaan Zek, Chanan Hanspal, Pascal Vigné and Christophe Godin, but his sound is easily recognizable. If you can accept the guitar beat music, you won't be disappointed for sure. Attention, play this disc on your CD player with an active guitar electrocution-proof function only! Are you seeking mental exercise? Don't hesitate to check "Digital Destination", since it's a real guitar ride! Give it a go!
