By the third demo of Mr. Pilat (guitar, bass guitar, drum programming), we have to notice the influx of two new artists: Marcin Wysokinski (vocals on two tracks) and Piotr Kowalczyk (keys).
The stuff is started by a neoclassical introduction that sounds we are going to get best produced solo demo by Mr. Pilat. I needn't convince you that he is a gifted player and deserves the fans' acclaim, since it was written in two previous reviews on his music. I admit that Marcin's singing fits to the music, and Piotr's keyboard parts revitalise it a bit. Even though neoclassical compositions like Niccolo Paganini's "Caprice no. 16" and Pilat's original "Theme for G" are neither fast and spectacular, nor technically advanced and instrumentally decorated, they are still graceful. There are other tracks with faster and more complex guitar solos that can strike and blow us away for sure. Undoubtedly, they can be called exquisite and astonishing parts to impress the listener. It's worth mentioning here are more distorted tones in comparison to the preceding demos, but Mr. Pilat managed to keep his unique sense of feeling and tunefulness.
Summing up, "Under a Blackened Sky" includes a quiet rock music with the leadership of Wojciech's guitar. I'd like also to assert that his guitar craft is undeniable and is able to produce a phonic pleasure that is a significant pace forward. With this stuff, he is closer to getting his own style than never before, haha. By the way, Wojtek, it's high time you recorded the first completely neoclassical solo album!
