A Triggering Myth - The Remedy Of Abstraction (2006)The Laser's Edge

I always ask myself why such a great bands like A Triggering Myth aren't actively promoted in the papers, the more so because their artisitic level is far better than many groups' appearing on magazines' covers?! Probably, it can be an extreme materialism that pushes the labels to release mediocre musical creatures, haha. But it's none of my business. The losers are those who ignore the pearls!

Actually, A Triggering Myth is made of a duo: Tim Drumheller (keys) and Rick Eddy (keys, acoustic guitar), but, personally, I consider this band a high-valued sextet. Just look at the guest roll: Michael Manring (bass), Scott McGill (electric & nylon-string guitars), Vic Stevens (drums, percussion) and Akihisa Tsuboy (a violinist of a very popular Japanese fusion band KBB). Do I have to write about all these artists' band experiences with details? Isn't enough to mention each of them is the highest-class virtuoso? I hope that most of you take my word for it. A Triggering Myth performs a kind of instrumental progressive music. Stay cool, it isn't as experimental as typical fusion bands get used to play, especially as Tim and Rick can refer to the best patterns of symphonic rock from the seventies with a virtuosic grace! The band characteristic is "whizzing" and even "humming" Manring's bass that is the fundament of instrumental construction on "The Remedy of Abstraction".

I admit that atypical and humorous track titles are of great importance for this release, e.g. "Now That My House Has Burned Down, I Have A Beautiful View Of The Moon", "Shakespeare's Strippers" and "When Emily Dickinson Learned To Lunge"! The sixth disc of A Triggering Myth can be recommended to those listeners who complain about a shortage of calm and muffling music. An American band is a mixture of Ominox, Niacin, Richard Hallebeek Project on one hand and De Gladas Kapell and LWE - on the other one. It's the music we can draw inspiration from!
