On the second solo album, Mr. Valdes (guitar, bass guitar, keys) was supported by a drummer, Ferran Roch. Did it positively influence on the contests? Let's go to details.
David has gathered a heap of majestic compositions here launching a neoclassical assault against us, haha. I must express my admiration on his dexterity that is clearly audible in these parts when he loosely plays most difficult arpeggios. He hasn't lost himself in velocity, but presented us with a right dose of melody and calm tones like these ones on an old-French dance at fast pace called "Bourree" (it is second Johann Sebastian Bach's composition next to "1099 Adagio" covered on the album). David has a neoclaclassicist Arnaldo Garcia and a progressive wizard Stephan Forte as guests on "In Darkness". They play two guitar solos consecutively, but, with a great respect to their technical skills, didn't bring too much to it. That's so, because "Imhotep" embodies Valdes' musical identity first and foremost. Nobody can accuse him of guitar abuse, since its use is perfectly-proportioned. This item acts like a driving force making people positively attituded towards the world.
I wish David would get a crop in the form of new fans, since he is a topnotch multiinstrumentalist. What about feelings after the listening? Amazement, the shivers, a will to applaud the genius. Additional descriptions needed? Here they are: ideal arrangements, perfect execution, simply Valdes' work at it's best! The neoclassical mission with some progressive nuances has been accomplished! He is an undoubted candidate for the neoclassical young generation leader indeed!
